Getting Ready

What to Expect:

When you arrive, be prepared to sit and chat for 10-15 minutes or so, maybe with a cup of coffee or glass of water.  This will give you a chance to relax and decompress from the traffic or whatever. Stressed headshots are not good! 

What to Wear: 

A headshot only shows the shoulders, or mid-chest, up to the top of the head, so the shirt/top is the most important item.  And remember:

• Keep it simple.
• Choose something you feel comfortable in. 
• Avoid busy patterns.  
• Go for a solid colors.  Pastels are best. 
• Consider bringing a solid black and/or white top/shirt   
• No logos. 
• Make sure your clothes are freshly pressed - no wrinkles!
• Pick out your clothes the day before, so you're not stressed the day of your session. 
• Consider bringing a clip-on tie if you have trouble tying a good knot.

What to Bring:

• Bring brushes, combs etc. for your hair
• Bring any cosmetics/hairspray you may need.
• Think about any props you might want (hats, sunglasses, etc.)

And Finally:

• Get plenty of sleep.
• Manage your hairstyle to minimize flyaway hair.
• Men, if you tend to get a rash after shaving, shave early in the morning. 
• Try to be on time and relaxed.  

After Your Photo Session:

In 1-3 days, we will have your best pictures selected with basic edits.  We get rid of blinks, blurs and the like, crop them to 8x10 and do some basic color correction.  Those pictures will be posted to your private gallery on our website in a set called BASIC EDITS, You'll be notified by email with a link when they are ready for you to see. From the BASIC EDITS set you can pick your favorites and when you are happy with your final picks, let me know, and I'll do the final touchups and let you know when they are ready. If you'd like additional edits, please let me know. We want you to be happy with the final photos!
